Muntjac

Muntjac, Muntiacus reevesi, two mammals on grass, Warwickshire, February 2013 Muntjac D0267 Muntjac D0265 Muntjac D0258

Strange looking deer Muntjac. Sometimes they appear no larger than a rabbit when you only get a glimpse of one and they are capable of hiding themselves away in the smallest bush. On other occasions they appear large enough to confuse with Roe deer. Both appear in large numbers on the estate where I photograph. They like apples and potatoes and will visit a baited site frequently.
